Basic Communications Structure

The MODCOM – Modern Communications Laboratory consists of:

• Student workstations (including hardware equipment and computer)
• Instructor computer
• Local area network
• Server
• Computer Managed Laboratory (CML) -  a learning management system

• CBT courseware

Each course consists of a printed circuit that plugs into the base unit. CBT courseware provides the essential theory, virtual measuring instruments and detailed procedures to perform the experiments. In addition, circuit simulation computer software provides supplementary problem solving exercises. Every student response, supplying exercise answers, calculations and measurements, is checked automatically by the courseware. Maximizing study time, the courseware delivers feedback to the student and ensures that the experiment is being performed correctly.
